Mandated to oversee the development of the MSC Malaysia is the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) based in Cyberjaya. Initially a Government-owned corporation but now incorporated under the Companies Act, MDeC facilitates applications by multinational and local companies to re-locate to the MSC Malaysia. It globally markets the MSC, shapes MSC-specific laws, policies and practices by advising Malaysian Government and standardises MSC Malaysia’s information infrastructure and urban development.

MDeC’s role is to advise the Malaysian Government on legislation and policies, develop MSC Malaysia-specific practises, and set breakthrough standards for multimedia operations. MDeC also promotes the MSC Malaysia locally and globally, as well as support companies which are locating within the MSC Malaysia.
